Kan poesi rädda liv?
Poeten Linda Ghaderi har följt utvecklingen efter den arabiska våren där de mänskliga rättigheterna skakas i grunden. Gränser stängs, asylrätten hotas. Människor som drabbats av tyranni, krig, terror och flykt möts av ett enat Europa som vänder dem ryggen och reser murar, murar vi sedan andra världskriget kämpat för att riva.
Barn och vuxna möts av ett Europa som inget lärt av historien. Människors liv, människor som kunde ha varit vi, kantas av hunger, kyla och förtvivlan, i en evig väntan.
”Är inte ett barns liv värt någonting när det råkar vara fött i ett land drabbat av krig? Det kom till en punkt när jag var tvungen att agera”, säger Linda Ghaderi.
”Med sorg i hjärtat ser jag hur barn världen över berövas sin barndom. Jag tänker: Hur ska jag kunna hjälpa när mina resurser är begränsade? Men så kom jag ihåg att jag har poesi att ge ifrån hjärtat.”
Poesisamlingen Pocket Poetry for Moments of Despair – The Silent Songs, utkommer den 14 april. Den omfattar tolv dikter om själen. I samband med inleder Linda Ghaderi ett samarbete med UNHCR för att donera alla intäkter från den första e-utgåvan av diktsamlingen till UNHCR.

Can poetry save lives?
The poet Linda Ghaderi has followed the developments after the Arabic spring where human rights shake to its foundations. Borders are closed, the right to seek asylum is threatened. People afflicted by tyranny, war, terror and flight are met by a united Europe that turns its back at them and build walls, walls we fought to tear down since World War II.
Children and adults are met by a Europe that learned nothing from history. People’s lives, people who could have been us, are lined with hunger, cold and despair, in an eternal waiting.
”Isn’t a child’s life worth anything when it happens to be born in a country afflicted by war? It came to a point when I had to act,” says Linda Ghaderi.
”With great sorrow I see how children worldwide is deprived of their childhood. I’m thinking: How can I help when my resources are limited? But then I remembered that I have poetry to give from the heart.”
The Poetry Collection Pocket Poetry for Moments of Despair – The Silent Songs, published on 14 April. It includes twelve poems about the soul. In connection with the issuance initiates Linda Ghaderi collaboration with UNHCR to donate all proceeds from the first e-edition of the poetry collection to UNHCR.
